This was a request from a friend of mine, "Beauty For Ashes". At the time, I wasn't too familiar with where the phrase stemmed from, so I painted what I thought would fit. A woman representing beauty is being lifted out of the ashes and flames. The light of God shining on her, pulling her up to the heavens. If you read Isaiah 61 however, I believe you will find something even more beautiful. Maybe I'll make another painting that hopefully captures the true beauty of that passage. Nonetheless, This painting represents something or someone beautiful being brought out of the suffering and struggles of the ashes and fire.
