Hope Canvas

This is a painting about Hope. In a more natural sense, we hope in things without the assurance that that thing will happen. The girl in the painting is hoping for spring to rise out of the winter. The fallen green leaf could be the end of that hope or a fire that sparks that hope anew. However she knows that spring must and will eventually come. “I hope she likes this necklace I got for her” always has a degree of doubt or uncertainty behind it. She might actually hate it, even though she might accept it. However Christian hope is not rooted in uncertainty. We hope in the promise of God Almighty. God is known to us as a being that can never lie, and will never break His promises. He's faithful even when we've been unfaithful. He's always on time even when all hope seems to be lost. Hope in God is an expectation of what will come to pass, not a wish upon a star.
